Job Title: QC Bench Chemist

Pay: $20-25/hr

  • Responsibilities:
    • Evaluate raw materials, work in process, & finished goods
    • Overview formulas prior to compound manufacturing commencement
    • Assist QA/QC Manager as needed
    • Preform basic laboratory equipment calibration
    • Utilize UHPLC, GC, FT-IR, etc. for analysis
    • Sample & analyze incoming raw materials to ensure the materials meet specification
    • Maintain standards, & prepare retention samples.
    • Complete test records accurately, completely & neatly
    • Preform testing in line with required frequencies
    • Maintain representative samples of all the finished products
    • Submit batch finished product samples to Micro, for testing in a timely manner, review reports upon arrival
    • Analyze finished products to ensure specifications are met, & histories are appropriately captured
    • Assist & recommend with sanitization inspections (in compounding area & production line)
    • Demonstrate a teamwork orientation
    • Willingness to learn processes, & contribute to development of new processes
    • Displays strong work ethic, & willingness to accept accountability
    • Maintain accuracy in daily duties
    • Communicate with compounding, R&D, purchasing & Q.C line inspectors, & raw material vendors on a timely & professional manner
  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor Degree (Chemistry/ or Biology) or High School Degree with 3 years of work experience
    • Experience in Personal care or similar regulated products preferred
    • Basic Laboratory Testing experience
    • Good Communication Skills
    • Basic mathematical proficiency
    • Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) Knowledge Strongly Preferred
    • Manufacturing experience with batch adjustment responsibility 
    • Knowledge of Physical Testing (Fill Weights, Torque, Color/Odor/Appearance comparison with established standard) preferred
    • Highly experienced with Microsoft Office
    • Experience with controlled documents and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
    • Able to work 8-hour shifts
    • Able to stand for an extended amount of time
    • Able to lift 25 lbs
