Position Title:  Manufacturing Associate

Pay:  $15.00 - $17.00

Position Summary: The Manufacturing Associate has the primary function of manufacturing medical diagnostic reagents in conformance with established SOP’s and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). The main tasks may include weighing, mixing, filling, packaging, pulling materials and accurate record keeping according to Good Documentation Practices. The Manufacturing Associate is also expected to maintain a clean well organized environment according to 5S established guidelines. The Manufacturing Associate, with proper training, may also be asked to load and unload trucks and move materials with a forklift, manual pallet jack or electric pallet jack (weighing up to 1,250 lbs.).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the manufacturing of medical diagnostic reagents and stains. Associates can be involved in all areas of manufacturing including the following areas: weighing raw materials and mixing reagent; filling cubitainers, bottles, pouches or cartridges; run packaging equipment; package kits; printing labels; label finished product or components and move finished product to the staging area.
  • Rotate within areas of manufacturing to support production schedule. Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to support manufacturing process.
  • Perform required duties according to established SOP’s and quality standards to ensure product standards are met.
  • Stage materials and supplies needed for production to the line and organize material handling for efficiency. Properly prepare the production area and perform line clearance after production, clean equipment, shut down equipment and remove trash.
  • Maintain a clean and well organized environment at all times.
  • Request help for maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Complete production documentation accurately at each stage of production.
  • Safely perform work and operate equipment. Identify safety hazards and bring them to the attention of management or safety team member. Report any near misses to management or EHS Manager.
  • Perform operations in an efficient manner to achieve the daily production schedule.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED degree and 0-3 years preferred experience in the production of liquid manufacturing/packaging, including experience in the Armed Forces.
  • Knowledge of FDA (US Food and Drug Administration), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), ISO (International Organization for Standardization) and GDP (Good Documentation Practices) preferred. Forklift and motorized material handling equipment experience a plus.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisory and associates.
  • Interact effectively with colleagues to facilitate efficient manufacturing
  • Ability to make daily decisions regarding production line activities.
  • Ability to recognize activities that do not conform to established SOP’s and Quality Procedures and alert management.
  • Willing to make suggestions for process improvements.
